Tan Skin x White Skin (ผิวแทน x ผิวขาว)

Annoying… is probably the word I’m going to express towards this skin whitening trend that has been storming around South East Asia. Everyone’s being brain washed by the media that favors white skin like Korean. I mean to like K-pop and music is like, sure, but trying to change yourself to be them is like… lame.

อยากผิวขาว ปัญหาโลกแตกที่ผู้หญิงต้องเผชิญ ไม่รู้ว่าจะอธิบายยังไงกับหัวข้อที่น่ารำคาญนี้ที่ระบาดไปทั่วเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ในปัจจุบัน เมื่อสาว ๆ ยอมทำทุกอย่างเพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งผิวที่ขาว มันเป็นเรื่องปกติที่จะชอบเพลงเกาหลีหรือละครเกาหลี แต่อย่าให้สื่อเหล่านี้ล้างสมองเรา และใช้ประโยชน์จากความชอบของเรา

I would want all women (and some men) to reflect back again what real beauty is. We all are born different for a reason, we are meant to have identity. I agree, white skin looks pure and innocent and visually easier to dress up or do makeup. But what are we forgetting? We are only exposed to the media that are trying to sell products by putting all these superficial images out there, forgetting that there are more variation in beauty. We don’t even know how to do make up or dress up with tan skin (strictly talking about South East Asian media).

อยากให้ผู้หญิงทุกคน (และผู้ชายบางส่วน) สะท้อนกลับไปคิดถึงความงามที่แท้จริง เราทุกคนเกิดมาแตกต่างกัน เพราะเราเกิดมาเพื่อมีเอกลักษณ์ ยอมรับว่าผิวขาวดูบริสุทธิ์และง่ายในการแต่งตัวหรือแต่งหน้ากว่า แต่เราลืมอะไรหรือเปล่า? เราสัมผัสและมองเห็นเฉพาะสื่อที่กำลังพยายามขายสินค้าจากอุดมคติของเราด้วยภาพลักษณ์เท่านั้น โดยสื่อเหล่านี้เลือกที่จะเมินความงามในรูปแบบอื่น ๆ เพราะมันขายยาก เราในฐานะคนที่เสพสื่อเหล่านี้จะไม่มีทางเลือกเลย เหรอ? พวกเราบางคนไม่รู้วิธีแต่งหน้าหรือแต่งตัวให้เข้ากับผิวแทนเลย หายากมาก (โดยเฉพาะสื่อเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้)

If you say men likes white skin girl. I have a question for you. Do you really want a man who chooses his woman from skin color? If skin color is such a big factor for that man, what can we assume about him? Is he pale and doesn’t do sports? Or maybe he does sports, but never wanted his girlfriend to be a part of his hobby? He doesn’t work out? He’s just being superficial? Or he’s never been exposed to other media? (other than what’s around him). Maybe he never explored the world? So many things come into my head.

But you are forgetting that there’s a whole bunch of men who doesn’t care what skin color you are. And amongst these are the smart and successful ones. They own a yacht, does jet ski, go diving, surfs, mountain climbing… etc… yes…all the emotionally and financially well-to-do people activities… And these men want his girlfriend to be his life partner and join him in his activities. If you are the type of girl who runs into shades, opens her umbrella, and hide under the tree while her boyfriend surf… I don’t think your relationship’s gonna work.

ถ้าคุณจะบอกว่าผู้ชายชอบสาวผิวขาวมากกว่า Aki มีคำถามคะ เราต้องการผู้ชายที่เลือกผู้หญิงของเขาจากสีผิวหรือคะ? ถ้าสีผิวเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญสำหรับผู้ชายคนนั้น งั้นเราก็สามารถคิดในมุมต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับเขาได้ปะ? เขาเป็นคนซีดเซียวและไม่เล่นกีฬา? หรือเล่นกีฬา แต่ไม่ได้อยากให้แฟนสาวของเขาเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของงานอดิเรกของเขา? เขาไม่ชอบการออกกำลังกาย? เขาเป็นคนผิวเผิน ไม่ต้องการอะไรลึกซึ้ง? หรือเขาไม่เคยสัมผัสกับสื่ออื่น ๆ ? (นอกเหนือจากสิ่งที่อยู่รอบตัวเขา) บางทีเขาอาจจะไม่เคยท่องโลก? หลายสิ่งหลายอย่างแล่นเข้ามาในหัวเราเมื่อเจอคนแบบนี้

ก็อยากจะบอกข่าวดีค่ะว่าในโลกนี้ยังมีกลุ่มคนที่ไม่ได้สนใจสีผิว และเหล่านี้ก็มีหลายคนที่เป็นคนฉลาดและประสบความสำเร็จ พวกเขาเป็นเจ้าของเรือยอชท์ เจ็ทสกี ชอบดำน้ำ เซิร์ฟ ปีนเขา … ฯลฯ … ใช่แล้ว … กิจกรรมคนประสบความสำเร็จทางอารมณ์และทางการเงิน … และคนเหล่านี้ต้องการแฟนสาวที่จะเป็นคู่ชีวิตและร่วมเดินทาง ร่วมกิจกรรมชีวิตไปกับเขา ถ้าคุณเป็นสาวประเภทที่วิ่งและซ่อนตัวใต้ต้นไม้ จากแสงแดดในขณะที่แฟนคุณเซิร์ฟ … คงยากที่จะมีกิจกรรมกลางแจ้งร่วมกันแล้วละ

What I’m trying to say is, when a man is smart and successful, he’s going to look for someone with the same level of perspective and attitude. I’m not even talking about money or success, I’m talking about brain. Of course he will look for hot and beautiful woman, coz he can. But the definition of hot, is not just visual. Visual will only keep a man temporarily, but brain, attitude, and her mindset will keep him longer. (lol… I don’t use the word ‘forever’).

สิ่งที่ Aki พยายามจะบอกคือเมื่อผู้ชายที่ฉลาดและประสบความสำเร็จในอุดมคติเรา จะมองหาผู้หญิงคนหนึ่ง เขาจะมองหาคนที่มีระดับเดียวกันกับเขา ไม่ได้พูดเกี่ยวกับเงินหรือความสำเร็จเลยนะ หมายถึงมุมมองและทัศนคติ หรือสมองนั่นแหละ แน่นอนว่าเขาจะมองหาผู้หญิงที่ hot และสวย เพราะเขาสามารถ แต่ความหมายของสวยไม่ได้เป็นเพียงแค่รูปลักษณ์ ความสวยภายนอกจะทำให้เขาหลงชั่วคราว แต่สมอง ทัศนคติ และความคิดของเธอจะทำให้เขาอยู่กับเธอนานขึ้น (5555 … สังเกตว่าจะไม่ใช้คำ ว่า ‘ตลอดกาล’)

So, if you want a quality man, you’ve got to become a quality woman. Meaning think more and balance properly what matters, and what’s nonsense. Stop spending ridiculous amount on whitening product or injecting some crap to make you whiter…. (This applies to unbelievable amount of plastic surgery that’s been going on amongst women). Be awesome both visually and intellectually.

ดังนั้นถ้าผู้หญิงเราต้องการที่จะค้นหาผู้ชายคุณภาพที่เรามักจะมโน เราก็ต้องทำตัวให้มีคุณภาพ หมายความว่าต้องคิดมากขึ้น และรักษาความสมดุลอย่างถูกต้องระหว่างสิ่งที่สำคัญและสิ่งที่ไร้สาระ หยุดการใช้จ่ายจำนวนเงินมากมายที่ไร้สาระในการฟอกสีผิว ผลิตภัณฑ์ หรือฉีดอะไรก็ไม่รู้ที่เขาบอกว่าจะทำให้คุณขาว … (นี้รวมไปถึงการทำศัลยกรรมพลาสติกที่ระบาดในหมู่ผู้หญิง) อย่าหยุดสวย แต่ต้องไปทั้งรูปลักษณ์และสติปัญญา
